BRIDGE REPLACEMENT ON CR-60 OVER LITTLE CREEK

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project replaced an aging 77-foot-long bridge—originally featuring a concrete deck and wooden pillars—with a modern triple-barrel box culvert (12’ x 12’ x 50’). The new structure accommodates two lanes of traffic, thereby improving safety and reducing long-term maintenance requirements. Additionally, the project involved designing roadway approaches and integrating key drainage improvements to ensure an efficient and resilient transportation network.

Engineering services included developing horizontal and vertical alignments, creating plan/profile sheets, and generating detailed cross-sections to guide the culvert installation. A comprehensive hydraulic analysis was performed to determine design storms, flow velocities, and water surface elevations, ensuring the culvert maintains adequate freeboard and mitigates upstream flooding. By optimizing culvert size, alignment, and invert elevations, the project enhances both the functionality of Little Creek and overall roadway performance.
