PRATT HOUSING – INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Pratt Housing – Infrastructure Package lays the groundwork for a vibrant residential community in the City of Birmingham. While a private developer leads the construction of four single-family homes, ten cottages, and nine townhomes, the City is responsible for delivering the supporting public infrastructure improvements. This coordinated effort ensures that essential services and amenities are in place to support both current and future residents.

Infrastructure enhancements within the public Rights of Way include the installation of water mains, sanitary sewer mains, and a new closed stormwater drainage system. Additionally, the project encompasses the construction and rehabilitation of streets, complete with curb and gutter systems, as well as the addition of sidewalks for improved pedestrian access. Streetlights and strategically planted street trees further enhance the neighborhood, improving safety, aesthetics, and overall quality of life. Together, these upgrades form the essential backbone of the Pratt Housing Development, fostering a sustainable and connected community.

DCS provided surveying, civil engineering, electrical, and landscape architecture services to support the successful implementation of these infrastructure improvements.
