HIGH ORE MULTIMODAL CORRIDOR
The High Ore Line Multimodal Corridor project consists of the creation of a multi-use (walking and biking) greenway trail along abandoned railroad easements. The project spans a distance of 2 ½ miles and connects the cities of Midfield and Birmingham. The scope of work included selective site demolition; clearing and grubbing; grading; erosion control; paving; signage; ADA-accessible sidewalks; and landscaping. This project was funded under the Transportation Investments Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grants awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Design efforts were coordinated and approved by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Engineering services included surveying, trail design, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control plans, and civil construction details.
