GREENSPRINGS HIGHWAY STREETSCAPE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The goal of this project was to address pedestrian mobility and safety concerns associated with the lack of an accessible path along a 1½ mile segment of the Greensprings Highway corridor. The project corridor consisted of several residential and commercial facilities such as churches, retail shops, community parks, shopping centers, apartment complexes and at the time, had no safe pedestrian access to these facilities exist. This project provided improved accessibility, mobility and beautification efforts to significantly improve the streetscape appearance of right-of-ways of this segment of the Greensprings Highway corridor.

The scope of the work included addition of ADA accessible sidewalks, storm drainage improvements, landscaping, irrigation and lighting. Engineering services included horizontal and vertical geometric, sidewalk layout, grading, drainage design, erosion and sedimentation control, traffic control, electrical, landscape and irrigation.
