PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involves the design and construction of a new, single-story on-campus child development center for UAB. The facility will accommodate up to 200 children and will include a drop-off area, designated parking spaces and an outdoor play area for the children.

Civil engineering services provided for this new facility, included surveying, site planning and design, grading, erosion control, utilities, and storm water management. As part of the project, an existing parking lot will be demolished to make way for the new construction. Existing traffic patterns and flow were analyzed and reconfigured to accommodate traffic patterns for the new facility.

Once complete, the new Child Development Center will serve as a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for UAB’s youngest learners.
