BUS STORAGE FACILITY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of its efforts for a healthier environmental, Alabama A&M University chose to reduce its carbon footprint by replacing its diesel buses with new electric buses. The new fleet marks the first deployed electric buses in Alabama and for an Historically Black College and University (HBCU) and a new era of clean and quiet transportation.

This project was to design and construct a bus storage facility for the newly acquired electric buses. The project included a bus canopy and charging stations for the electric buses.

Efforts were coordinated with other architectural disciplines to provide a comprehensive design. Engineering services include topographic survey, civil site design, site grading and drainage plan, erosion and sediment control plans, utility systems design, civil construction details and construction administration.
