PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The 15^th Street Parking and Pedestrian Greenway project was designed to provide a safe, convenient and attractive pedestrian promenade to the student service functions housed in the new 159,000 sf Student Center. This project creates a dedicated pedestrian crossing on University Boulevard from the existing Campus Green to the new Student Center, improving both pedestrian safety and linking the new Student Center to the UAB Green where classrooms, residence halls, dining and other student areas are located. Vehicular accessibility to the Student Center, Campus Recreational Center and the School of Medicine was enhanced with the addition of a 220 space parking lot.

Engineering services included civil site design, site grading and drainage plans, site utilities design, erosion and sediment control plans, traffic control plans and civil construction details.
